Imparta included in Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 list for fastest growing technology companies for the second year running

Blended learning experts Imparta achieved a ranking of 71st in the Sunday Times 2005 Microsoft Tech Track 100 List. The annual league table ranks the UK’s fastest growing technology companies, and Imparta’s position was earned by growing sales by an average of 51.69% per year over the two financial years between 2002 and 2004

Richard Barkey, CEO and founder of Imparta commented: "We more than doubled sales between 2002 and 2004, and 2005 has been another great year of strong sales growth. This achievement reflects our continued focus on delivering and developing technologies and services that have a measurable and major impact on our clients’ sales and marketing performance.

We continue to have the privilege of working with some wonderfully talented clients, and once again my thanks go to them for their support. I would also like to thank the team at Imparta for their amazing dedication to making sure our client’s expectations are always exceeded. 2005 has been another great year, and we hope to make the next edition of the List as well!"

About the league table

Now in its fifth year, The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 annual league table is compiled by Oxford-based research company Fast Track and published with The Sunday Times business section on 25 September and on www.fasttrack.co.uk.

In addition to title sponsor Microsoft, the league table is co-sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

League table criteria

Companies are ranked according to their annual growth rate in sales between 2002 and 2004. Companies had to be unquoted, independent and registered in Britain.

The league table adopts the London Stock Exchange’s techMARK definition of what constitutes a technology company. Companies primarily engaged in simply reselling or reassembly were predominantly excluded, as were IT consultancies that do not develop proprietary technology. Companies also had to forecast an increase in sales from 2004 to 2005, but were not required to be in profit.

The research was carried out by Fast Track between 1 June and 19 August 2005. All of the companies were interviewed by telephone and in addition the majority (88) have also been visited by the Fast Track research team.
