When founder Richard Barkey started Imparta in 1997, the goal was to provide an antidote to an industry that was – and remains – focused on delivering events rather than results.
What clients say about our impact on their business.
Imparta, which builds corporate capability in sales and marketing effectiveness for major companies, has made a 10th anniversary present to itself and its clients with a series of new senior hires who bring deep knowledge of financial services, logistics, telecoms and training technologies. All bring international expertise, in support of Imparta’s rapidly-growing ability to serve the needs of global clients.
The business development team has expanded to include Ian Cummings and Rolf Sohner, while Martin Tranter and David Vachell take Lead Consultant roles.
Ian Cummings has extensive sales, marketing and general management experience in the Middle East, the Nordics, Turkey and Poland, which will assist Imparta’s expansion into new geographical markets. Starting his career in sales with global logistics giant DHL, he rose over 18 years through roles of sales director, commercial director and managing director, to become an Area director for four new EU entrant countries. He left DHL in 2004 to become a partner in a niche logistics company which he ran until recently. Ian was attracted to Imparta by its effectiveness in improving sales performance, and its increasing geographical reach.
Rolf Sohner has recently moved to the UK from Australia, where he spent many years building businesses in the areas of new media, interactive multimedia and online education. Rolf has held sales and management positions at state and national level with leading Australian companies such as iFocus, Catalyst Interactive, ISIS Communications, Adacel Technologies, Macromedia and Apple Computers. In these roles he has provided training and information solutions, using advanced technologies, to Government, Finance, Health, Manufacturing and Retail sectors.
Martin Tranter’s background as a Development Director, Management Consultant and Training Executive has included creating and leading major change programmes in management development and sales. In past posts and consultancy roles for Zurich Financial Services, Martin covered a wide spectrum of capability-building activities, including training development, competency assessing, and the design of recruitment, induction and reward programmes.
David Vachell joins Imparta from his past post as Head of Learning Strategy and Policy at BT Global Services. Reporting to the President, David has restructured sales and commercial management curricula with the use of a wide spectrum of training delivery methods. He has generated over 400% ROI from his radical approach to sales professional development. Prior to BT, David was Head of Learning Strategy and Innovation for EDS, working on programmes for EMEA to attain critical business growth targets. David’s early career covered providing software and information solutions to clients in diverse country markets, including founding his own company for software development.
