Don Whyte is a practised trainer and consultant in strategic marketing, marketing management and related areas including customer focus, pricing, branding, risk and financial management. He has a broad understanding of learning methods and prefers a ‘hands on’ style, with a good working knowledge of his clients, to support work place application.
Don has specialised in the area of training and related consulting since 1988, initially in business/market risk analysis for major financial services companies such as RBS, HSBC and Credit Suisse. Since 1995 he has focused on marketing, working with clients in a wide range of industries including GE, Suez, Novartis, Rolls-Royce, General Motors, Oracle, Cisco and O2. Programmes designed and delivered have ranged from building a customer focused organisation to workshops on pricing and portfolio management. Don’s practical commercial experience includes sales, key account management, marketing and strategic roles within the Rio Tinto group of companies, based in UK and Europe.
Earlier experience as an engineer in the oil and gas industry included design, project management and trouble shooting roles in the Middle and Far East. Most recently he spent two years as Commercial Director of a software company, developing and implementing a successful turn-around strategy.
Don’s first degree is in Materials Science with Economics and he has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management. He is a Chartered Marketer, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and also the Strategic Planning Society.
