Richard Barkey, Chief Executive, founded Imparta in 1997. He was formerly at McKinsey & Co, where he spent four years as a management consultant, and then three years pioneering the use of simulation-based training. Having grown Imparta to be one of the UK's leading sales and marketing training companies, Richard remains closely involved in learning design, as well as taking overall responsibility for the direction of the business. Richard holds an MA in Engineering and an MBA with distinction from the Harvard Business School. He sits on the Editorial Board of Training Journal, and is a Non-Executive Director of the Portobello Business Centre in London.
Colin Melia, CTO, is a Microsoft Certified Developer with a degree in computer science and extensive systems design and programming experience in a wide variety of languages. He has a deep understanding of the Windows operating environment and of the Internet, and has been responsible for the development of Imparta’s software engine and development tools.
Brian Borowsky, Managing Director, Imparta Asia Pacific, was previously Product Management Director at seek.com.au and a Director of SMG (a US-based simulation and e-learning company). Brian has developed and delivered simulations, programmes and Internet products across a wide range of subject areas and industries. Brian is also an experienced trainer in strategy, marketing, finance and sales. He currently resides in Melbourne, Australia.
Jayne Heaford, Head of Marketing & Head of Marketing Content, has undertaken marketing work for overseas governments and firms in industrial marketing, energy, automotive and travel industry development. Before Imparta, she was a company director in a marketing group, and led teams on B2B, channel, and consumer marketing activities for major household names. Her internal marketing experience includes sales and service training and change communications. Jayne has a DMS and MA in Marketing Management with distinctions.
Anne-Marie White, Head of Client Impact, is responsible for Imparta’s team of Lead Consultants and our overall Academy approach, with a focus on driving impact within our client base. Anne-Marie was previously Learning and Development Manager for EMEA at Hewlett-Packard, where she leveraged her sales skills by building sales capability and driving organisational change through multi-national initiatives. These included leading sales organisational development and learning for 5,000 people across EMEA, designing the global HP Sales University Programme, and creating and implementing sales staff assessment and development centres in 18 languages across Europe. The initiative created over $100 million in incremental sales revenue.
Mark Abell, Head of International Development, has held a number of roles at Imparta, including MD, Imparta UK. Mark has played a key part in the company’s development since it was founded. Prior to joining Imparta, he was Head of International Marketing at the London Stock Exchange. He also held a number of business development positions at Baring Asset Management and the London Stock Exchange. Mark has a Masters degree (with distinction) from the London Business School.
Rob Barham, Head of Sales, has spent his career as a salesperson and in developing sales and marketing capabilities in companies. He has moved to Imparta from his previous role as CEO in TACK International, a long-established player in sales training. Starting in a sales role after University, Rob moved into account management in logistics company DHL International where he succeeded in building DHL’s business by creating innovative solutions for major clients such as Midland Bank. He then ran his own sales and marketing business and was a sales and marketing director for a packaging company before joining TACK as Sales Director in 2003, and becoming CEO nine months later.
Rob Nixon, Financial Controller, is responsible for the smooth day to day running of Imparta's Finance function. Rob is a Chartered Accountant (ACMA) with a degree in Accounting for Business which he studied at Staffordsdhire Univertisty. Rob joined Imparta in 2007 from his previous role as Finance Manager at Dearle & Henderson Ltd, where he improved the finance function's processes and reporting. Robert has obtained his experience in financial and management accounting during succesfull spells in several finance roles since graduating in 1999.
Duncan Maxwell, Head of IT Network Operations, joined Imparta in January 2008 having spent five years as the ICT Operations Manager/Head of ICT at The National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts. Duncan holds a degree in Business Information Systems, is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and has an in depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based operating systems and applications. Duncan heads up the IT Operations at Imparta, where he has project managed many large-scale IT initiatives, including the introduction of Virtual Classrooms/Workshops.
