When founder Richard Barkey started Imparta in 1997, the goal was to provide an antidote to an industry that was – and remains – focused on delivering events rather than results.

Learning by doing works better than conventional training – according to a US study by the NTL Institute for Behavioural Science, it is more than seven times more effective.
Imparta’s workshops are based on this insight. They are highly interactive events, combining simulations, exercises, role-plays and the application of new skills to real situations, all helping to build specific analytical and interpersonal skills. We create workshops that appeal to all three main types of learner: auditory, visual and kinaesthetic.
Our modular approach and understanding of business also allows us to tailor the workshops in a very efficient way, making them highly relevant to the attendees’ actual work in both content and context. For example, we drop in modules to reflect the specific challenges being faced, and tailor role-plays and exercises to reflect the reality of your business. The real-life case studies that attendees bring with them are also woven into the workshop, and the coaching provided by the trainer often continues by email after the workshop.
These accelerated techniques typically allow us to compress what would otherwise be 3 or more days’ worth of material into 2, reducing time off the road and associated costs such as accommodation. We are also able to deliver training in some disciplines “at a distance” using collaboration tools such as Webex or Centra.
Trainers
Our faculty members are dedicated professionals with a flair and passion for teaching and coaching, with a deep understanding of business and extensive practical experience.
We use a combination of full-time and associate faculty, but work closely with a small number of highly qualified individuals, rather than having occasional relationships with many. We take great care in ‘casting’ trainers who will match our clients’ style, culture and business environment. We also offer “train the trainer” services and certification, if you would rather use your own staff.
Logistics
We have a dedicated and experienced logistics team who are able to take on as much of the workshop logistics task as you wish, including the administration of course invitations, materials production, venue booking and liaison, and reporting.
